It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas with lights and decorations everywhere and many seasonal events coming.

This Saturday and Sunday will be the annual Budafest which takes place in downtown Buda. Our line dancers, led by instructor Sybil Childers, will perform on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. on Main Street. The first ever lighted parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. in historic downtown Buda. Sunday beginning at 5 p.m., Santa Cruz Catholic Church will host their annual Christmas dinner for seniors. As is our tradition, the drawing for the Buda Bee quilt raffle will also be held.

On Thursday, December 7, from 6 to 9 pm the City of Buda will host the annual Trail of Lights tour for seniors. Seniors are invited to meet at our Center for refreshments, provided by the Buda Lions Club and ride to Stagecoach Park to see the lights.

Our Christmas lunch will be Thursday, December 21st. We hope you can attend since we will have a special visitor drop by. From 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday night, we will host our Christmas dance with music by Chip Sneed & Friends.

Since Christmas Day is sometimes rather lonely for many of our seniors, we will again have a gathering for a 2 pm meal. All seniors are invited; however, we do request that you sign up to attend. Thanks to Donna Sinner for serving as chairperson for the event.

Since we are again taking orders for our memorial bricks, that just might be the gift you could ask your children to give you or you may want to purchase one for someone special. The new bricks will be added to the ones at the entrance to our center. Cost is $100. Forms are available in the office.

Do wish all a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to a good year in 2018, as we will be celebrating our fifth year in our new center.

November is the time to think about all we have to be thankful for as we approach our Thanksgiving season. Our center is very grateful for the many members that make this place such a wonderful part of the Buda community. We have the best of volunteers that step up when needed to support our many activities that take place here.

On Thursday, November 16, we will have a traditional Thanksgiving meal served by our very capable kitchen staff. We hope to have a full center that day, so please plan to attend.

We will again take orders for our memorial bricks that will be added to the ones at the entrance to our center. Cost is again $100 per brick. The bricks can be given in memory of a love one who has passed on or to honor someone special.

With the recent passing of our member Mary Jo Evans, some of her friends have established a fund to purchase a brick in memory of her. If you would like to contribute, please contact the office.

Since Mary Jo loved to dance, we feel that it would be very fitting to host a memorial at our center on Thursday, November 16, at 4:00p.m., which will be prior to our third Thursday evening dance. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Happy Fall!
